SUMMARY:Energy Efficiency: How It's Paying Off for Rhode Islanders
DESCRIPTION:On April 11\, 2018\, the Rhode Island Energy Efficiency and Resource Management Council (EERMC) hosted a public event to highlight how energy efficiency efforts are paying off for Rhode Islanders. Legislators\, energy efficiency vendors\, energy efficiency program participants\, state agencies\, and members of the public were all welcomed to attend and learn how energy efficiency programs are critical to our state’s economy. \nHigh-profile speakers\, including Scott Johnstone (NEEP) and Nick Ucci (RI Office of Energy Resources)\, highlighted the large-scale benefits of energy efficiency\, including how this work supports Rhode Island’s economic\, environmental\, and health goals. J Jerue (Rhode Island College)\, Vin Graziano (RISE Engineering)\, and Jim Mixner (Restivo’s HVAC) also spoke about how energy efficiency programs have benefited their businesses and saved them and residents money. Chris Powell (EERMC Chair) discussed how Rhode Islander’s are able to participate in the public process that oversees these programs. We have cutting-edge policies and programs that deliver significant energy savings to our industry\, businesses\, and residents each year. In 2016\, Rhode Island’s energy efficiency programs saved homeowners and businesses over $269 million in lifetime energy costs and supported 702 full-time equivalent jobs. \nLegislators\, energy efficiency vendors\, energy efficiency program participants\, state agencies\, and members of the public are invited to learn how our energy efficiency programs are critical to our state’s economy. \nHigh-profile speakers will highlight the large-scale benefits of energy efficiency\, including how this work supports Rhode Island’s economic\, environmental\, and health goals. Hear firsthand from businesses and residents on how energy efficiency programs have saved them money. Find out how to participate in the public process that oversees these programs. And speak with National Grid representatives to learn how to take advantage of Rhode Island’s money-saving energy efficiency programs. \nThe event is free and open to the public.
