ENERGY LECTURE SERIES
The EEC is proud to sponsor the Plugged Into Energy Research (PIER) Lecture Series, an initiative led by the University of Rhode Island Cooperative Extension. Since 2015, the PIER Series has featured local industry experts, thought leaders, and community members who break down complex topics, spark dialogue, and deepen public understanding of the energy challenges and opportunities facing Rhode Island. The series explores how energy systems shape our daily lives and long-term future, connecting Rhode Island’s priorities with broader energy trends.
Annual Public Forum
Each year, the EEC hosts a public forum that brings together local stakeholders for learning and dialog around current issues impacting the energy efficiency landscape in Rhode Island. The event provides a forum for cross-sector, interdisciplinary connections with the goal of progressing efforts to address the ongoing challenges of transitioning a sustainable energy system.
ENERGY EXPO AT THE HOME SHOW
Since 2014, the EEC has sponsored the Energy Expo at the Rhode Island Home Show in partnership with the Rhode Island Builders Association, Rhode Island Energy, and the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources. The Energy Expo connects Rhode Islanders with resources that can help them reduce energy usage, save money, and increase the comfort of their homes. At the Energy Expo, residents can interact with dozens of energy related companies, sign-up for a no-cost home energy assessment, attend energy seminars, and learn about clean energy programs available in Rhode Island.
K-12 Educator Resources
Educators can have a significant impact on the minds of the future. The Energy Efficiency Council sponsored the development of resources designed to help educators of all kinds teach and engage students on energy related topics including energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate science, and energy equity.
